Bird Dog Flowers {Alison + Ian}

We had the privilege of creating personal flowers and hand-painted ring bearer sign for lovely Alison + Ian. The venue, Le San Michele, was the perfect setting for their garden-inspired decor! Other favorites from the big day: the pink/peach/sage decor palette, adorable flower girl and ring bearers, and super sweet clients! Oh yeah, and the beautiful peach ranunculus we scored! Not bad at all. Enjoy the gorgeous images from Kate Stafford Photography below. Prosit, Alison + Ian!

Bird Dog Wedding {Joanna + Paul}

Joanna and Paul are two lovely folks living deep in the heart of Austin. Joanna came to me only looking for design work and I was happy to oblige her request. The fact that we both owned and spoiled liver-and-white Brittanies did not hurt the situation. I really heart their little family and wish them all the best in their future together!

For J+P, we created a southern-with-a-twist wedding and Mercury Hall was the perfect backdrop. We took vintage elements that Joanna liked – bunting, furniture pieces, calico fabrics – and tried to present them in fresh ways. Three types of bunting were made from a mix of vintage sheets and fabric – including the horizontal bunting used in the reception space, which makes our heart hurt in a good way. And I’m not sure if there’s ever been a happier ceremony aisle (see the cute bridesmaids below for proof). The bunting place cards with streamers also make us smile.

J+P had their fair share of personal details that really made this wedding special. Joanna hunted for fabric, bottles, cookie plates, and you name it in her hometown. She also wore her mother’s engagement and wedding rings around her neck and had a bouquet of her mother’s favorite yellow roses placed in her chair. Family and friends baked their favorite cookies for the dessert table. Paul’s mother made them a bunting and contributed lots of fun vintage items she’d collected over the years. Joanna and I even collected twigs together outside her home for the head table. I love when family and friends come together to contribute to the big day.

Last but not least, huge thanks to all the amazing vendors involved: Lahra Bryant Photography for capturing these incredible images; Leah at Zinnia & Company for the gorgeous, gorgeous personal flowers; the lovely gals at Loot Vintage RentalsIllusions Rentals and Rosemary’s Catering for being awesome and so nice to work with; and my super amazing team – you know who you are – I love you guys! See end of post for a full vendor list.

Styled Bridal {Cameron}

Hello, peeps – today we have one of our favorite styled concepts to date. We had so much fun working with Kristi Wright and the beautiful bride-to-be, Cameron, on this shoot. Cameron loved classic styles so Grace Kelly, European cafes, rich colors, and Marie Antoinette inspired the design. Now that Cameron is married off, I can show it all off! Kristi Wright snapped all these amazing images at Chateau Bellevue. See end of post for the rest of the talented vendors involved.

Wedding Planning and Coordination {Alison + Brent}

Alison and Brent got married on a clear day at Star Hill Ranch. Alison is a talented artist and hand letterer that drew out every area of her wedding design for me. Super special lady here, folks. A+B worked hard to bring their vision to life – lots of hand lettering all the paper elements, building a corn hole set, constructing boutonnieres, etc. It all paid off – their lovely wedding was featured on Southern Weddings! A+B have also started Wayfarers Creative Co. to share their lovely creative talents with the world. Congratulations, you two!

Oh, and did I mention I got to work some of my favorite people? Paige Newton Photography snapped the gorgeous images and The Byrd Collective produced absolutely amazing floral pieces. See end of post for the complete list of vendors.

Workin’ It {Allan House Fairytale Romance Open House}

In August, we were invited to participate in A Fairytale Romance – Open House + Bridal Showcase hosted by The Allan House as an event designer. Yay, we know this meant we would get to have some fun with pinks and golds and be super girly. We don’t have a problem with that.

We wanted to show brides what it was like to pull together several vendors to create a design, so we invited some of the other vendors to participate in our tablescape. They all knocked it out of the park! Blue Note Bakery provided us three sweet mini cakes – all on Loot Vintage Rentals cake stands. Loot also provided

Rehearsal Dinner Planning and Design {Entwined 2012 – Annie + Tyler}

Last spring, we had the wonderful opportunity to plan and design the rehearsal dinner for Entwined 2012 – an amazing wedding weekend giveaway featuring some of the best central Texas vendors. Needless to say, we were super excited to be included! I want to give special thanks to Kristin Light and Brandi at Country Sugar for asking me to participate.
Several couples were in the running, and Annie and Tyler won with the most votes. Annie and Tyler were a dream to work with. They were super sweet and grateful for all the work going into their wedding festivities. They also loved all my ideas and that didn’t hurt :). Hope married life is treating you right, Annie and Tyler!
Let me tell you a bit about the design. I wanted to create a French boutique atmosphere using lots of colors, shapes, and textures. Elegant, eclectic, and fun. Luckily, I had an amazing team of vendors to help me carry it out. Overall Entwined planning by Country Sugar. We provided planning and design for the rehearsal dinner portion. The Creative Parasol created all the paper goods, including one of my favorite invitations of all time. Kristin Light Photographie captured the event beautifully. Fresh Urban Flowers provided the gorgeous arrangements full of dahlias, roses, and ranunculus to name a few. Loot Vintage Rentals brought some of their beautiful vintage furniture and decor items. The Cupcake Bar provided delicious cupcake favors to guests. Whim Event Rentals provided linens and tabletop items. Event Ignition turned the room pink for us! Uptown Blanco was the setting and caterer. All graciously donated by the vendors.

Event {BHLDN Austin Afternoon}

So when BHLDN invites you to participate in a Sunday brunch event at their store to highlight their favorite Austin vendors, one says yes, right? Right!

We were so thrilled to be included in a group of some of the most wonderful vendors in town: The Byrd Collective, Liv by Design, Word of Mouth Catering, Tiny Pies, The Creative Parasol, Ashley Garmon Photographers, and Paige Newton Photography.

The event took place in late July and we styled several areas throughout the store with Liv by Design. The BHLDN staff were so kind and pretty much let us do as we pleased, a designer’s dream. Seriously, I was a kid in a candy store and even created some impromptu hankie bunting. So fun. Thank you, BHLDN!

The main table was garden-to-table inspired with a bit of quintessential Austin eclectic charm, perfect for a brunch wedding. We also tried to give the other areas a backyard, sweet feel that is so vital to the Austin wedding scene.

Here’s a little peek at the event through Insta pics. I will post a few profesh pics by Ashley Garmon and Paige Newton soon. Cheers!

…oh, yeah, and I got to wear this super cute BHLDN polka dot dress!
